If the student has not been allocated a room before arrival, arrangements can be made for a room in the Lancaster Lodge on campus or in local bed and breakfast accommodation.  In this case, students should make sure that they have enough funds to cover the cost of this short term accommodation.  Rooms cost £43 per night in the Lancaster Lodge and an average of £40 per night in bed and breakfast accommodation.

The University has a Housing Office with staff who can offer advice and assistance to students looking for off campus accommodation.  A number of services are available in the Housing Office including a ‘rooms to let board’ and a ‘rooms wanted’ board as well as a lodgings list and lists of available whole properties.

Students who want to live off campus should consider looking in the local area only to avoid long journey times to the campus.
